It contains a state of the art gel which provides soothing even warmth or cold for extended periods of time. Use of the therapeutic THERAPRO™ Warm/Cold Compress reduces swelling, aches, hemorrhaging, muscle spasms and pain. Furthermore, it promotes faster healing. This is an economical product which can be used over and over again. It is the new fun way to apply compresses. How Does the THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket Work? The small 3" x 3.7" cells containing THERAPRO™ Dry Gel super absorbent polymer are quilted between water impermeable and water permeable sheets. When soaked in water, the THERAPRO™ Gel Ice Blanket will absorb and encapsulates several hundred times it's weight in water to produce a hydrated gel ice blanket or gel packs. The gel ice product can then be frozen or heated and wrapped around the area to be treated. Because of it's unique construction, this product remains flexible even when it is frozen. The THERAPRO™ Gel Ice Blanket is designed to stay colder longer than ice and will not leak when it thaws. When heated, this product provides soothing even warmth for extended periods of time. Applications The therapeutic THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket can be effectively used to treat sprains, strains, cuts and contusions, and reduces the following: Swelling Inflammation Pain Muscle Spasms Aches Hemorrhaging Instructions for Cold Therapy Use Cut the THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket to the desired size. Cut near the center of the sealed areas adjacent to the cells. Do not cut into the cells.  Soak in clean water for about 10 minutes to hydrate the product and freeze. Remove and wrap the cold therapy compress in a THERAPRO™ Wrap or towel and apply to the affected area for 15-20 minutes. Repeat approximately every hour as necessary, or as directed by your physician. Instructions for Warm Therapy Use - Warm Water Cut the THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket to the desired size. Cut near the center of the sealed areas adjacent to the cells. Do not cut into the cells.  Soak in clean water for about 10 minutes to hydrate the product. Heat water to a temperature not exceeding 1500F. (Do not boil water). Remove the water from the heat and place the THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket in the water for 5-10 minutes or until the desired temperature is reached. Carefully remove from the water and wrap in a THERAPRO™ Wrap or towel and apply to the affected area for 10-15 minutes. Repeat approximately every hour as necessary, or as directed by your physician. Instructions for Warm Compress Use - Microwave Cut the THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket to the desired size. Cut near the center of the sealed areas adjacent to the cells. Do not cut into the cells.  Soak in clean water for about 10 minutes to hydrate the product. Heat the THERAPRO™ Hot/Cold Therapy Blanket in the microwave for 15 seconds at the low setting and redistribute the contents of the compress. Repeat the procedure until the desired temperature is reached. Watch the compress while heating and turn the microwave off if it starts to expand or exceeds 1500F. When the desired temperature is reached, wrap the compress in a towel or cloth and apply to the affected area for 10-15 minutes. Repeat approximately every hour as necessary, or as directed by your physician. Warning For Warm/Cold Compress Use Persons who have circulatory problems, are hypersensitive to cold/warm therapy, or with history of frostbite should consult a doctor before using this product. This product should always be wrapped in a cloth or towel and should not be applied directly to the skin to avoid frostbite and burns. Furthermore, do not exceed 20 minutes per application. Rejuvenation Over time, THERAPRO™ will lose some moisture and bulk due to evaporation. Simply rehydrate (soak in clean water) to rejuvenate the cells prior to freezing or warming and then reuse.
